Based on Warehouse 36's successful line of 1965 Mustang Pedal Cars, the Shelby GT350 Pedal Car is tricked out in full Shelby colors and designed after the world famous 1965 Ford Shelby G.T. 350. This pedal car sports the distinctive hood and side panel striping, Shelby "Cobra" gas cap, and an imprint of Carroll Shelby's signature on the rear deck.
Released in late November 2006, these classic toys will be manufactured in limited quantities through the end of 2009. Adding to the collectible value, these child pedal cars are the ONLY fully licensed pedal car by Carroll Shelby and Ford Motor Company. Included with each car will be a certificate of authenticity.
Since it's introduction, demand for and sales of this collectible pedal car have been heavy. Once manufacture of Shelby GT350 ceases at the end of 2007, supplies of this classic toy are expected to sell out quickly.
The 1965 Mustang Pedal Car:
Immediately following the release of the world famous 1965 Ford Mustang from Ford Motor Company, the first 1965 Mustang Pedal Car manufactured by AMF was introduced to the public. These original AMF pedal cars were sold from 1965 through 1970, ultimately these pedal toy sized Mustangs became as popular as their full size counter parts. During the early 70's AMF sold off the tooling and production of the much desired Mustang Pedal Car ceased.
Fast forward to 2004, Mark Luzaich president of Warehouse 36 finds the original AMF tooling used to manufacture the '65 Mustang pedal car and purchases it. After obtaining licensing rights from Ford Motor Company, and using the original AMF tooling, Warehouse 36 began producing near exact replicas of the 1965 AMF Mustang Pedal Car, today's difference being the new "Child Safe" powder coat finish. Today these original AMF pedal cars are as popular with children and adults as much as they were 40 years ago, making these incredible pedal toys an original American Classic.
